The schools i used to go to had things called houses, and you competed against the other house in sport, academics, cleanliness, marching and many other things. It gave you a feeling of belonging i guess and taught you how to act as a team and not an individual, which a lot of live is about.

Hi Elung,

I trained teachers in Malang in 2006 (over 300) and class numbers and lack of control was the predominant complaint. Some (maybe many) teachers were afraid of not having control, it was touching that they would share such fears, yet devastating to know that fellow teachers were feeling this way.

It is interesting that you say "in my country there isn’t TA in every single school", and I know this is a fact, as I have seen it for myself. Teaching conditions in Indonesia are generally VERY difficult. A TA in each class would go a long way to helping the learning outcomes of the students, as well as the sanity of the teacher.

Thanks for your comment Elung.

Nice post!
Why I choos want to become a teacher?
The first. I want to tell about my education now. I am third years of student in Indonesia University of Education, Bandung in Elementary school teacher program.

Honestly, I got this course was not my choose. My father forced me. But, in the middle of my study I am awake about how important education is. And teacher is one of the important part.

In developing country like Indonesia, Education is one of factor of development. And I looked the fact that most of teacher here didnt do their job as well. I am very disapointed.

But now, I can be calm down because the government is strating to give more attention in education. And I looked good effort from any institution.

Absolutely, I agree with Bill. TA can bring a condusif class situation. But unfortunately, in my country there isn't TA in every single school, altough they are very important part in a class.
Generally we just have a teacher in a class that have about 30-45 students there. And most of teacher can't control the class, and the learning doesn't go well. I'm apprehensive with this condition.

This seems to be a great idea and is quite interesting. It will not only help to enhance learning but it will also help in building the skills of cooperation as well as leadership skills among children. It will teach children how to co-exist within a group and enable them to develop the skills of conflict resolution. In all it will work very well in the overall personal growth and development of children.

Saif’s last blog post..LONELINESS: THE ROLE THAT IT PLAYS ON A STUDENT'S ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
